Here we are, bike-addicted and enthusiasts, the mountain-biking season is ready to set off! The official start is in Garda Trentino and goes under the name of Bike Festival! Such a name has never been so spot on, because the 24th edition of this biking event (from the 28th April to the 1st May 2017) is a proper celebration of the mountain-biking world!
In Riva del Garda more than 40,000 visitors and 3,000 participants are expected to take part in these four full and fast-paced days dedicated to pathos and this sensation in between strain and competition thrill (competition with yourself before than with the others).
Mountain-biking is highly addictive, and practicing mountain-biking around Garda Trentino magnifies it. The Bike Festival organisers are well conscious of this fact, sure that this area is naturally suited for this discipline, thanks to its slopes and grades, mountains and lake, glimpses that make your eyes twinkle and a Mediterranean climate.
This year the most important moment for bikers will be the Rocky Mountain Bike Marathon, as well as the Garda Trentino Pump Battle World Series and the Bosch eMTB Challenge supported by Trek, combining Enduro, Trail and Orienteering elements, and entirely devoted to the e-bike. For the little ones there is also the Junior Trophy, for kids from 3 to 14. If you’d like to look at the full programme, please click here, a lot of competitions are there waiting for you!
THE EXPO AREA
Once again, the Bike Festival hub will be the Expo area. In these last years it has been confirmed as a real MTB fair: booths galore (160), dedicated brands and all about the bike world under the same big pavilion.
It’s like being kids in a toy shop, and Bike Festival represents the Toyland for the bike lovers. A unique chance to enjoy a complete full immersion in this world made of speed and wind that gently touches your skin, adrenaline and astonishment. The same astonishment that will leave you jaw-dropped when you will linger over watching the deep blue of Lake Garda, after a long route uphill, maybe towards Canale di Tenno, one of Italy’s most beautiful hamlets.
But if you think this Festival is only about “watching” the bike world, you are seriously wrong: the competition is livelier than ever and encompasses all the MTB disciplines.
BIKE AND CO.
From all kinds of competition to the Open Night, one of the most longed-for moments during the Bike Festival, an evening when the mountain-biking world will be celebrated with a lot of music and fun, and a smile on your face as well.
Because sport and happiness are an essential duo, the former giving strength to the latter, and together they seem to sing a long hymn to the bike and to an event, Bike Festival, that tastes of that Garda Trentino lust for life.
