More than sixty years of traditions for the most enchanted night of Garda Trentino!
Notte di Fiaba is a not-to-be-missed event that symbolically brings the summer season to an end, giving both adults and kids the opportunity to live in a fairytale for four days. Actually, the venue of the event, Riva del Garda, is already an enchanted place, but during the Fairytale Night everybody feels like a knight or a princess! Or rather genies, this year! The chosen topic for 2016 is in fact Aladdin and the Magic Lantern. Who doesn’t have a couple of those childhood wishes to be granted? This year, you could make them directly in Riva del Garda from the 25th to the 28th of August 2016.
Workshops, games, tales, concerts, little street plays take up the whole city! This event draws its inspiration in the far 19th century when the first boats started to be decorated with lights, shows and music! Over the years this cheerful event has been being embellished with phantasy and more and more enchanted scenic effects which climax in the fireworks displays (on Saturday, 27th of August), emblem of the Notte di Fiaba par excellence! The colorful lights enlarge on the water surface creating manyfold reflections which take the breath of thousands of visitors away. Each summer, these visitors choose to be enchanted by the fairy atmosphere of this event which change the theme each year. And if last year we felt partly like a wolf and partly like Little Red Riding Hood (actually, I’m more the nanny!), this year be ready to be captured by the Eastern atmosphere, waiting for Aladdin on his magic carpet!
Looking upwards to spot him flying, maybe exactly when the fireworks display is kicking off! Looking around at the unique background of Garda Trentino, its mountains and the several colorful stalls: getting a whiff of the blooming flowers, I definitely know that life itself is like a long-lasting fairytale in which everybody wants to live the happy end!
