Lake Garda Trentino is a coveted destination for all water sports enthusiasts such as sailing, surfing, sup, kayaking and windsurfing. The many sailing schools organize courses, even at the weekends, for children, adults and gone tomorrow tourists.
Anyway, Garda Trentino is a wonderful destination for the end summer and autumn too, to come and enjoy the luxuriant nature and the thrilling and not-to-be-missed boat races at Garda Trentino!
A superb summer finale
The end of summer will be glorious at Garda Trentino. In September, the boat races will begin with the modern sailboat races and the flying sailboat races, the high-performing GC32 catamarans that will make a splash in Riva del Garda and especially at Fraglia Vela Riva.
Worldwide famous skippers – also from the America’s Cup – will be back at Garda, one of the most adequate places to surf these hi-tech monsters. From 10th to 17th September, we do recommend a walk to the port of Fraglia Vela Riva to admire the sailboat closely, with the crews getting ready to surf. Then, keep walking or cycling on the Ponale Trail to watch the boat races from above and to hear the tremendous sound the boats cause on the water. You can hear that sound until Pregasina, in the silence of nature.
From 23rd to 29th September at Circolo Surf Torbole, you can cherish Olympic stars racing the Championships for Tokyo 2020 RS:X. This event will be one of the last chances to qualify for the Olympic Games, so the battle between the best competitors and Olympic medallists will be hard during the races at Alto Garda.
Sailing at Lake Garda Trentino regards all ages. From 23rd to 26th October, the teenagers, who on their super fast and acrobatic 29er boats, double preparatory for the Olympic 49er and Nacra 17 catamarans, will race the last stage of the Eurocup in Riva del Garda, at Fraglia Vela Riva.
More than 100 crews will end the season of Fraglia-circolo, that celebrated its 90th anniversary last year, in the name of the modern sailing and of the young competitors. These young sailors will be even younger for the Halloween Cup organized by Circolo Vela Torbole on November 1st-3rd – this event is for the Optimist, the category for children aged 9-15. This is the very last boat race of the season at Alto Garda, with about 400 competitors getting to Torbole with their families for a last holiday dedicated to sailing.
An excellence to be protected: the “roboboe”
To offer all these competitors the best organization even under the technological point of view, as well as to protect the lake as much as possible, they are testing the electric robotic buoy, thanks to an ambitious project by Circolo Vela Torbole.
This important news both aims to safeguard the lake and to offer cutting-edge services to the numerous international boat races. One of the long-term goals is the use of electric motors to be installed to the rescue boats, in order to respect the environment and to carry on the far-reaching and eco-friendly willingness that banned the motorboat navigation at Garda Trentino, except for emergencies and transport services.
This common commitment aims to find environmental-friendly technologies and to reach a unique and important target together: to enjoy a safer and cleaner Lake Garda and, for the many tourists who come here for their holidays, to let them spend their time here only surrounded by the beautiful and breath-taking Garda Trentino.
