Christmas markets in Arco: where the Habsburg past meets the local traditions.
In Arco, the most magical holiday of the year brings a high lit fir tree in the middle of the main square, and all around it there are lots of stalls full to the brim of local products and gifts to place under the Christmas tree. And you don’t have to wait for December to come! From the 15th November to the 6th January 2020 the Arco Christmas market will dazzle you with thousands of colorful lights, to gift you with a Christmas preview where you could smell the perfume of mulled wine and cinnamon.
This year, the magic of Christmas in Arco will climax in the fireworks display on December, 7th. It will make the castle twinkle red and light up the markets, alive with tourists and local people ready to be overwhelmed by the most loved holiday of the year.
Arco continues the storytelling in light, the tale of the manor house and characters that has been video-mapped onto the facade of the Town Hall these past two years. A beam of light imbued with stories, a fairytale which has become a legend, telling the tale of star-crossed lovers, dragons, fairies and sorcery. This is the third edition of the “Fairytale Light Show”, the third fabulous chapter of Arco’s magical past.
Canale di Tenno: where time stood still and the Christmas traditions live unchanged.
Only few kilometers from Lake Garda there is Canale di Tenno, one of the most evocative haunts in Trentino. Christmas begins to be perceived soon here as well: it is kicking off on the 23rd November! This tiny hamlet, included in the prestigious club of Italy’s most beautiful hamlets, features the typical elements of the ancient hamlets, with narrow alleys and stone houses, connected by lobbies and subways still untouched like in the Middle Ages.
